Bream fishing along the Sussex Coast really starts to kick-off April/May with huge shoals appearing off to the West of Brighton as they gather to spawn. This can be great sport on light gear and if you fish light, stay alert and regularly change your bait there is every chance that you will enjoy great fun from these feisty little scrappers. Once spawned they head to the offshore wrecks where they quickly gain weight and it is here, at anchor later in the year that we target the bigger specimens up to 5lb.
Bream are veracious predators and will take a range of baits including squid, lugworm, ragworm, mussel, crab or any combination of these!
